Orhan Cem Çetin explores the works he has produced so far and adds new ones to his existing alternative methods with his solo exhibition titled “Sahne Arkası” (“Backstage”) at Evin Sanat Galerisi (Evin Art Gallery).
With his critical thinking and bold vision creating new and unprecedented works, Orhan Cem Çetin gracefully touches on the world of photography by rethinking the various layers of meaning in his works, producing editing formats and image formation processes in different periods. In his adventure through art, he intends to relocate both the existing archaeology of memory and the accepted meanings in photography.
It is a journey from a long-term aesthetic quest to a beautiful or stunning, but meaningful photograph. This journey reaches us by feeding on the power and fascination of aesthetics, a philosophical discussion of existence.
Orhan Cem Çetin’s book TutKeep is now published for the first time. His book, Bedava Gergedan (translated as Free Rhino), which was published and sold out in 2004, is being re-published now within the scope of the exhibition.
Curated by Eda Yiğit, the exhibition also includes the artist’s video works. The exhibition can be seen until 3 November 2018.
